Behavior Intervention Specialist
Administrative position (10 months) Qualified candidates should possess Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education field with teaching certification, 3-5 years experience working with children with complex needs and behaviors, specialized training,certification and expertise in autism, social, and emotional supports. Preference given to candidates with Behavior Specialist licensure, and Special Education Supervision certification. Responsibilities include but not limited to conducting functional behavioral assessments and providing interventions to assist students, groups, staff and systems through the application of positive behavior supports that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful. Provide training and consultation on multiple behavior concepts, including classroom management, inclusion, multi-tiered system of support, social skills, and emotional intelligence. Provide consultative services and lead school efforts in the formulation, monitoring and implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEP) for students with complex needs/behaviors.
