Created during 2000-2001, the Big Beaver Falls Education Foundation is a non-profit, community organization dedicated to creating and enhancing educational opportunities for our children through partnerships with those committed to the belief that our children are our greatest asset and that their quality education should be one of our highest priorities. Two scholarships are given annually. The scholarship fund consists of a general fund and a Memorial Fund honor of U.S. Navy Lt. James Potter (1973 – 2003), a 1992 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. Lt. Potter was also a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. He served aboard ships deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since the creation of the Foundation, eighteen scholarships had been awarded.
The volunteers who make up the Board of Directors are all former Beaver Falls’ faculty, graduates, community members and business leaders.
