Chromebook Cost

Per the student device agreement, you may be charged the fair market value of any devices or parts that are damaged, or for devices or parts that are lost. You must report damage, loss or theft of the property to the school by the next school day after the occurrence.

The Big Beaver Falls Area School District will not charge families for the labor costs associated with repair. Due to the fact that models and age of devices vary, the cost schedule below is an average of these costs and can fluctuate over time due to price changes. 

Standard Cost Schedule - 2025-26 School Year

Entire Chromebook Loss or Destruction - $300 (Subtract $25 if charger is returned)
Charger Loss or Destruction - $25
Screen Destruction - $40
Keyboard/Palm rest Destruction - $20

Examples of damages COVERED by warranty

  • Key stops working
  • Screen has dark spots
  • Any peripheral ports stop working
  • Charger cables fraying

Examples of damages NOT COVERED

  • Broken/Cracked screens
  • Devices broken off in headphone/USB ports
  • Bezel/Case damages
  • Charger cables chewed on, torn apart, etc.

No stickers should be removed or put on Chromebook and nothing should be written on the Chromebook. This is destruction of school district property and a fee may be assessed. The same charger that was issued should be returned at the end of the year or you will be charged.
